    Default templates

I'm a little confused on what temmplates are in the osCMax install. I see things like- aabox, Closed, css-fluid-1, fallback ,help... in the templates folder, but I don't find any documentation anywhere on what these things are with the exception of aabox. So is there just one template? I was looking for more docs on skinning my site and am somewhat disappointed with the lack of it.
So far all I see is the "Part 1 : BTS Basics."

Is there more on this somewhere?

    bts_docs [osCMax and osCommerce documentation]

That is all you need. It explains a lot about bts to get started. Where the files are, what they do, and specific examples on how to create your own template files.

It is pretty simple. Each folder in the templates directory is a distinct template. aabox is a template. fallback is a template. css-fluid is a template, etc... Each template can also have a boxes folder and a content folder, which you can create custom box templates or custom main content templates (middle section of different pages).

The fallback template has all the content files that all other templates use, or fall-back to if they do not have their own custom content files.

    Thanks.
Is there a place where I can see these different templates illustrated? How would I know what they look like? And how does one set up another template as the default for a site?

Install oscmax. Login to the admin. Go to configuration. Change the Default Template Directory to whatever one you want to use.

It is set to aabox by default. Want to see fallback? Change the setting to fallback. Want to see CSS-fluid? Change the setting to css-fluid. Have fun.

This seems to be different on my store, which was installed a few years ago (RC2 I think).

I'm trying to figure out where to put a few lines of Google Analytics <script> so that it will show up on each page of the store. I'm looking at the OSCDox page at bts_docs [osCMax and osCommerce documentation] and I'm wondering if main_page.tpl.php is the one I need. I tried using that and disabling the cache, but Google's system said it couldn't find the code on my site, so I'm guessing I need to look elsewhere.

You do put it in main_page.tpl.php.

If it isn't showing up, you didn't put it in the right main page template. Make sure you put it in the correct one (it will be in the template dir that you have assigned in the admin).
