Cash on delivery not working

Hi all..
I have activated cash on delivery as the only method of payment in the payment module for my store. Now when a customer logs in and places an order, there is no payment method shown. but on going to confirmation page, it shows the cash on delivery as the default payment method. As he confirms the order, the page throws an error that please select a payment method. But there is no payment method shown in the order page. Please help..

Checkout method? Standard or One page checkout?

What is the shipping module(s) you have enabled?

Do you have weight set for your products?

Thanks for your reply...I searched through the forum for similar query and found a solution. The weight does matter and after I entered the weight...everything works fine..I dont have one page checkout enabled. Thanks a lot
