Hi Folks,

is there a way to limit the number of a particular product that a user can purchase? For example, if The user has chosen 1 t-shirt with a logo and he wants to buy more, can I limit the purchase to 10 and any higher volume purchase would need to be referred to me for a seperate quote?

Many thanks
Rob

This would require an if statement be added, with a redirect to a "custom quote page" if more than ten in basket.

A better fix would be to write a admin module which added this field to the product screens so you could set the maximum on a per product bases instead of hard coding a set number in the cashiering process.

This is something we can do for you. If your interested, contact our office.

thinking this through further, if you have an admin module that redirects to a alternate page if they select more than the limit for a product, it would get very old after their attempt to order the fourth product or whatever. As if they chose 4 different products, and got redirected on each one, they would probably get peaved and leave.

A better alternative might be to simply add a hard coded hyperlink on product_info.tpl.php that said "For bulk Orders, Click Here". That link to take you to a page with a form for requesting bulk pricing.

Or if you have customers that typically always order bulk, add them to a seperate pricing per customer group that gets a specific price on your products.

Theres alot you could do, you have to decide whats best for you and your customers, if you have questions or need customizations done, contact us.
