High performance osCmax Web Hosting plan

osCMax 2.0 RC4 has been released

Finally, osCMax 2.0 RC4 is here, with hundreds of improvements, upgrades, patches and updates. There was so much to do from RC3 to RC4 that it was a sometimes a daunting task to keep at it.

With the help of all the osCMax testing team and our ever present moderator and programmer JPF (Jason!) we managed to get things cranked up to a mild frenzy and get all the bugfixes and updates done on time. Whew! How many other software packages miss their deadlnes? I did not want to fall in that trap, especially since RC3 was so long in the tooth.

I want to give a little background as to what the delay was all about. A few years ago shortly after RC3 was released,  my daughter was born. Between my day job and learning how to be a dad, osCMax development slowed down a bit, but I was slowly plugging away. Things ground to a halt with my free time to code all but gone, as work demands increased. As I figured out how to balance my time more effectively, I set the goal for first quarter 2009 to get 2.0 RC4 and 2.0 Final released, and it looks like we are going to meet the deadline for both.

RC4 is a big move in the right direction for osCMax, and it has a massive number of improvements in both usability and stability as an eCommerce platform.

I want to personally thank JPF and the osCMax testing team for really working hard and pushing the quality up to a new level. Thank you all, this is truly a team effort and the community will directly benefit from your generosity of time and expertise to make something that is a benefit to all that use it.

Feel free to discuss this release, and I am happy to answer any questions about it.  Let me know what you think.
