Default Logging in, logging in, logging in

I think that I have to log into the admin section of my store 30 times a day, it is so frustrating.

Last year I made a request to be able to extend the time of an admin section.

I was advised to make some changes somewhere, not in the store admin, maybe a database table. Anyway that didnt achieve anything other than making me log in twice.

ie I log into admin, i can look around admin, but if I go to change an order from processed to posted, I get a login screen popping up. I then log in again and it is ok. It is even better when I write a long message go to send it, and then I have to log in again.

There was a bug tracker request to have the something done about the admin times, however I am unable to find it.

I am operating 2 stores, now both on 2.5.1, and the double log in issue is only related to 1.

    1. Can anyone advise as to what the change may have been??
    2. Were there any changes made between RC1 to 2.5.1 in regards to the admin login time.

    Thank you.

    1. To try and extend the session life --> catalog/admin/includes/functions/sessions.php line 19

    Change: $SESS_LIFE =1440; to: $SESS_LIFE = 5400;

    2. Don't think so.

Can't remember seeing a double login issue in the tracker - although you would be best exploring the issue here in the forums before posting.

    regards.

Edit: If the above has no effect on your session time then you may have to remove the if statement from round the $SESS_LIFE line.

Perhaps we should look at something like this for osCmax:
jQueryUI dialog session timeout countdown DEMO

Not entirely sure how to reset the session without moving pages - perhaps some use of headers on a small image file?

    Regards.

Overkill, given that you can just leave Admin on the "Who's Online" page, with a 10 min. timeout? Not sure what's worse extending the timeout or suggesting to leave Admin. on this page - then the shop owners go out for a two hour lunch, or home for the night.
But then what do I know about running IT systems? (rhetorical)

    thanks.
the double log in issue wasnt listed, it was to extend the session times.

I think I had already edited that line from 1440 to 14400.

As example, just then I added a new product, uploaded photo etc. then went to special by category, went to go to the category and I got logged out.

I have had the double log-in a few times when I have updated customer order status or sent them a message from the order screen

    Hi

Is it a case of the site swapping from http to https ?

I have this exact same issue of my store and I think Thowden is correct, however, I haven't had a chance to properly trouble shoot as it is isn't affecting the stores ability to function.

I always get asked to relog in when I make changes, for instance, I could be adding a new customer, but when I change the country, it'll ask me to log in and lose all the work (so I have to remember to change country first).

I think it all started when I added SSL to my store, and I am pretty sure my admin side is incorrect as the padlock on the bottom is unlocked. The catalogs https works great. Also, when clicking on login for customer, it will log in but then lose the session (this may be due to my browser settings).

I plan on trouble shooting this is about a week or so, but will subscribe aswell.
