[Configuration] How do I hide category/item unless you land on a certain page

Hello, Without using a special user account, Is there a way to add an item/category that won't show up anywhere in the store: can I sublet pages without the sublet item/category appearing anywhere on the main site, including searches? For example: I want to sell a download item, which doesn't really belong on a clothing site, but I don't want to set up a whole new osCMax, which would be overkill—I don't want two financial accounts and two sites.

I know you can hide products/categories on the product admin page so they dont appear on searches or listed on your site for the public but you could leave them visable to other groups (ie trade). You would have to give trade people a link to the correct page for them to be able to find them or require them to logon as a trade account to find it.
Perhaps you could experiment with this function to see if you can get it to do what you are after.

If you only want to sell one item for this download bit then I would suggest something like the google or paypal buy now buttons.

Otherwise it is as niallb says.
