I never thought about the stock levels I just want the customer returned to my site. There is a place in PayPal.com that asks where you want the customer to be returned, if I had a clue I would just type it in. The problem is no one will tell me what to put there and since it has never worked I don't know where it's suppose to take the customer.
What is suppose to happen when they click complete your order confirmation? Where is it suppose to take them? No one seems to know.
I'd think when they click complete your order confirmation it would take them back to my site. Just wish I knew where.

I assumed, ok that was my bad, that this was taken care of when PayPal sent the IPN confirmation back to the server, but alas not. So regardless of if IPN updates the status of the order, we need to encourage the customer to click back through after paying for their items (with no error) to make sure the stock levels don't go crazy

I will be investigating this problem today to see if I can find the solution. As its not immediately apparent.

I've also noticed that the PayPal stock update doesn't support per-attribute stock levels.

There is a return url, but in osCMax you don't need to set this option as part of the original post to PayPal when you click confirm tells PayPal where you want to be redirected to when you click 'Return to Merchant' after the customer has paid.

In the latest osCMax, the return url is http://yourdomain/checkout_process.php, its not necessary to set it manually. In fact I think it will overwrite it even if you do.

The main problem you have is not to do with this anyhow. To be honest I have spent the day tearing my hair out and the solution I found is to install this contribution.

osCommerce: osCommerce PayPal IPN Module v1.0 For 2.2MS2

OK so it didn't have any per attribute stock levels, but it works and completely avoids the issue you are experiencing as it redirects to another url and not checkout_process.php. It also updates the stock levels (normal) on the IPN update from PayPal and not on the customers get request.

Incidently I managed to get per attribute stock levels working by hacking the order class (slightly) and copying the attributes stock fix from bugtrac

Still now working. Same problem. Ugh! I put it away hoping that it would correct itself or I would have some kind of majestic in site as of yet neither has happened.

I did order a few eBooks from a website this weekend and wonder why their site has their name on the orange button and mine does not.

I wonder if I figured out how to get me company name on that button if that would lead somewhere with an answer the this problem.

Anyone have any more ideas?

Hi, I am getting this error and it doesn't seem to have been answered in full, I tried Michaels mods, in fact only one of the mods was needed the other was already completed.

Does anyone have the answer, I get the same error at the top of this thread and my carts don't get emptied, it's pretty annoying and not very customer friendly.

Anyone who has solved this and can share the fix it will be appreciated.

Thanks

Chris
