Order status not updating with IPN v2.2

I just installed the newest IPN module according to the instructions: I disabled the PayPal method in the Control Panel, moved the files out of the way, and copied the catalog/... files from the distribution archive into the production catalog/. Then I replicated all our v1.1 settings for certificates, etc. in the Control Panel.

Then I did a test order.

The payment went through fine, but the order status in the osc database did not change from Preparing [PayPal IPN]. Previously the update occurred almost instantaneously. Is there a problem at PayPal's end or did I miss something while setting up the new module?

This test was performed in our production store, with the production PayPal server, with real money from my personal account, so we know that it's not a matter of test vs production environment.

Hi, buddy, can you please tell me how in the world you fixed it? I also got the same paypal module where my order does go thoruhg fine, come up in my orders, but does not update, and does not notify the customer unless i manually update the status myself.

Not much to it, I'm afraid. Since I was already using v1.3 I copied the files manually from the distribution's subfolders to the live store. But I screwed up copying ipn.php and put it one folder too high in the hierarchy. Once I put it in the correct folder (i.e. that which corresponds to the subfolder that the unpacked zip archive puts it in) everything worked OK.

Hey thanks for replying , its my first time on this site, however which folder did you put the ipn.php file on your store ftp server?
Maybe i also have it in the wrong place

I don't remember exactly which folder it was, I've gone home for the day.

But it's not hard to figure out. The archive is organized with a "catalog" folder and subfolders, which corresponds exactly to your shop's "catalog" folder and subfolders. So copy the three php files from the archive to their corresponding folders in your store.
