    Default table rate shipping fees

My clients want to ship their products via UPS, but since all of their products are very light and they don't want to weigh and upload the weights of over 100 products, they simply want to use the Table Rate for shipping. Some questions: First in the example that comes loaded with version 2.2 it says "for up to 25.00 charge 8.50, from there up to 50.00 charge 5.5" I know that you can choose whether the 25.00 refers to weights or prices, but why would shipping prices DROP the higher the quantity of products purchased? (ie going from 8.50 to 5.50 when you purchase more?)

Is this the easiest way to set up shipping for very small, very light products that my clients don't want to weigh and enter into the database? Could i set it up so that up to $50 in purchases equals a shipping fee of $5 and $51-$100 in purchases costs $8, etc? What i mean is..... is the first amount charged and if they spend over the first amount and it goes into the second category or just the shipping fee for the second category?

    Please help. Thanks!

Change the Table Method to Price instead of Weight.

    Set your table like this:

    50:5.00,100:8.00,etc....
you might have to put decimals in like this (i'm not sure you have to test it)
    50.00:5.00,100.00:8.00,etc....

    or in other words:
    totalprice:shipping_cost,totalprice2:shipping_cost 2,etc..

Some people offer a discounted shipping rate for more items purchased and some people don't.. that doesnt mean you have to.. thats just the way they did it in the example
