Default Howto remove Dynamic Mopics

I have search the forum on howto remove Mopics, I followed the instruction of blanking "Big Images Directory" and it worked great.

But I still get the "Other images for this product:" infobox. Does anyone know howto remove this box or completely disable Mopics or remove it? My shop is on a 1 image based so I don't really need it.

Thanks very much for your help,

Regards,
TP

edit your product_info.tpl.php file and remove the box manually.

Thanks, It works great!

Another question though, since I disable the "Big Images Directory", Does this mean Mopics would always load the big size image at the begining or it will actually resize it or trying to match the configured image size? And it seems to be this way.

If Mopics doesn't resize the image, this would kill the loading time. I notice Mopics has "Thumbnail Images Directory" function, Is there a way to make use of this?

I tried to install this contribution: osCommerce: Automatic Thumbnail, but not successfully since my store is using faq-template and Mopics is in the way.

Any suggestion or help would be greatly appriciated!

Regards,
TP

Hello,

Using the default osCommerce image loading (you set this by blanking the big images directory) and it works just like standard osCommerce, not resizing or resampling.

If you want to have real thumbnails, I recommend the imagemagick auto thumbnailer for osC. It is easy to install and works great with osCMax.

You can also configure Mopics to load a thumbnail image. The trick is to have the thumbnail a gif, and the full sized pic a jpg. Then you put them both in the main images directory. Mopics will load the gif for the thumb and the full sized jpg when clicked.

Thanks,
I kind of figured that out. As for now, that seems to be the solution. But still love the idea of automatic thumbnail though

Just install the autothumbnailer here:
osCommerce: auto resize images

There are other autothumbnailers out there, but that is one of the easiest...
It is so easy a caveman could do it...

I installed it with no problem, but Mopics is still in the way. I still have to add gif thumbnail when adding product.

Anyway, I'm happy for now. Thanks for your help.

Default Re: Howto remove Dynamic Mopics

You just need to set up mopics to operate just like the standard image model in osCommerce. Since the autothumbnailer creates the thumbnail, you just need to have it create it where mopics expects it, or tell mopics to look where the thumbnailer makes it...

I have seen this working on several sites without any special tweaks.

Well
I have used and re written auto thumb several times. For Max, Loaded, OSc itself and Zencart. Some reason I just cant get it to work with the new oscmax2_RC3_0_1 .
It is semi working. The thumb is being ran through
the Auto thumb controls (Autothumb for GD) but there is no link to view larger image.
Idea of what is going on?
