| Been looking but had no luck yet in forum......so any suggestions, links, hints ect...plz MY PROBLEM....Is there "Any alternative to the SQL database ??" I really like this cart... I had been working with "commerceCGI cart.......a totally different affair!" Anyway.. is there a solution for OScommerce to use, that does not involve using a SQL database...my web-host does not provide this service...allthough - i do get to use all this.....FREE; 500MB Webspace Web & Email Control Panel Unlimited POP3 Email accounts Webmail Interface ASP Enabled CGI Enabled SSI Enabled ASP Jpeg Component ASP Email & Jmail Components FTP Account Alternative URL Daily Back-Up 24/7 Monitoring Professional and Responsive Technical Support ....so as you can see, i feel like i'm stuck in a boat without an oar !! Wot can I do ? 1. Other database system? 2. Build oscommerce without SQL ?(Put all html into php files???) 3. Use SQL......but through...accessing data accross domains ??(Get data from SQL server - located somewhere else ? #Refering back to 2. Can I build all html into php files negating the need for a database...... Customer data logged by some other means...?? plz , plz any suggestions thks I think |

| Maybe time to look for a new host. PHP & MySQL are growing everyday, and f your webhosting is not offering PHP or any type of SQL, (MSSQL, Oracle, or MYSQL) I would begin to wonder about there actual capabilites. More and more websites are incorporating SQL into everything. But if your looking for free, then you know the old saying "You get what you pay for!"

| osCommerce is a database driven application. No database = no osCommerce.
