Stock/Inventory Question and a few other simple questions!

Hi everyone,

after a brief hiatus, i have found myself back with OSC. =) I have a few questions that i was hoping someone can help me with...

1. Inventory/Stock - each product i carry is unique so inventory is always one. I want that when someone adds a certain product that it doesnt allow anyone else to add it.

i know there is the "mark product out of stock" in the admin but testing it out, i was able to add the same item on two different computers at the same time. and i noticed that this "mark product out of stock" notice shows up in the cart after someone adds it..is there a way to have it show up on the product page?

2. if i sell out of a product, is there a way where i can have that product still on the site but disable the checkout button and have a notice that says "sold"?

3. the page where it displays the list of all products in the category, where/what can i do so that i can customize it? ie. put products 3 to a row.
