    Default Undocumented modifications

I've looked over the documentation and I haven't found it, yet... and I'm quite sure I probably won't. However, here is my dilemma:

I have a friend who wants her site completely password protected. So that everytime anyone comes to it, they must register or login. So, if osCommerce see's that a session is not active (someone is not logged in), it redirects them to the register/login page of osCommerce. Can osCommerce do this? She doesn't want them even browsing the site without logging in first... If osCommerce can't do this by configuration, I'm sure I can just edit the code to check for a valid session, but I was hoping there was an easier way?

Also, she wants to force people to pay for membership. Meaning, when they register, it should take them to 2Checkout and force them to buy a membership and then upon completing the 2Checkout membership fee, add them as a user. Is this possible without code editing?

Any help is appreciated. This is my first whack at osCommerce software.

    Default RE: Undocumented modifications

You might want to look at:

    Require login to view site
This is a contribution that forces the user to login to view the site.

However does not force then to pay for a membership

    Control Login
This will force your customers to not be able to login, nor check out until you have activate his account in admin area.

However STILL does not force them to pay the membership

    Membership / Subscription Only
When a visitor clicks on a link to any "Member's Only" pages (See Part B below), they are sent to "Login/Create An Account" (login.php). Now they have two choices, either login or they can create an account. If they can login, they will be directed to the original page they were requesting and continue browsing.
Non-Members, wishing to join, click on the Create Account link, fill out the form. then click the "Continue" button. They will now be sent directly to the PayPal website to complete their Membership payment.

However they can still see the main page of the site.....(which might or might not be good)

    OT_Membership
This contrib adds a membership feature so that when a customer places their first order the membership fee is automatically added to the order total and shown at the time of order confirmation. The membership fee is then added again after the set number of months. There are settings in the admin menu for the membership fee amount and number of months before next fee is charged. Admin settings are found under modules-->order total

Mileage may vary - but atleast it a starting point.
