Help: Want Different Shipping Rates per Product Line...

Hello Dear Forum Users:

I need your help. I have three product lines and I need to do a different shipping method to each of them. That is, what I need different is just the handling for each, because each additional product is plus 1 on shipping.

Let me make it clear:

Line A = 10.00 Handling per order + 1 for each additional product
(ie: one product A = 10, two product A = 11, three product A=12, etc)

Line B = 15.05 Handling per order + 1 for each additional product
(ie: 1 product B = 15.05, 2 product B = 16.05, 3 product B=17.05, etc)

Line C =12.05 Handling per order + 1 for each additional product
(ie: 1 product C = 12.05, 2 product C = 13.05, 3 product C=14.05)


I have tried the per item shipping module, but I cannot set different handling fees for the different lines of product. The table module wouldnt work either...

Can you help?

Your example would help our situation. There are considerations for shipping other than just weight. We need a shipping cost per category. There is a contribution to allow shipping by product which may help get you part way there. (I have not gotten it to run and will try again with the milestone release.)

We also have the situation where 1-6 items can fit in one box and then we need another. Haven't figured out how to deal with this.

Right now I'm developing several sites for companies in the reptile industry. Those that offer live animals are going to have to be shipped overnight to arrive before 12pm the following day.

Is there a way to force a particular shipping method based upon what's in the cart?

Example...

Cart contains : Vitamin Supplements, Calcium Supplements, 160Watt Mercury Vapour bulb. They get the option of next day, express, ground, etc..

Cart contains : Leopard Gecko, Water Dragon. They only get the shipping of Guaranteed by Next morning - The last thing you want is them selecting "Ground" shipping and it taking a week to cross the country, because the animal WOULD arrive dead.
