Disable purchase and reviews

Hi all,

I'm new to osc and php, i'm setting up an online shop and would like to know is there a way to disable the review function... also, I'd like to be able to disable purchase when I modify my site (but ppl would still be able to browse through the site as usual).

BTW, I've got BTS v1.5d installed.

Have you looked at osCMax? It has BTS and a whole lot more....including a way to turn off infor boxes that you don't need/want. As for disabling purchases - hard to do unless you have NO payment options - other than something like COD... that way no one can run there card though.... ALSO put a notice on the main screen (osCMax has a WYSIWYG editor included for that) that it is not a LIVE site...


BETTER yet setup and test as a localhost install (use a LAMP or WAMP package to install php/mysql/phpmyadmin on your local PC - like Easyphp - has a on/off feature and more). Then COPY the whole thing to your live site - run the "install" to change the "configure.php" files - then in admin "restore" the database (or use phpmyadmin).

Thanks for your advice ! The problem is, like I said, I'm totally new to osc, I didn't even realize there is a osCMax until I'm half done with the mods on my friend's osc 2.2 shop....

I'll be setting up a few more shops for my friends later on, and I sure will go osCMax instead !

Any idea on the review function tho? I really don't want it on the shops....
