Default Modifying store (categories/products)

Hello -
I just got Oscommerce installed on my server and want to modify the store to contain my products. What files do I edit to change the categories / items? Any input would be helpful becasue here is a severe lack of documentation on how to do the simplest tasks with OSC. Thanks

Jesse

Default Modify the DB several ways...

You can do this through the admin panel, just go to the products section of the admin, and add or delete. If you have all the sample data in the cart, this is quite tedious, so the easiest way is to use phpmyadmin and empty the data from the product tables.

To enter the new data, you can do this again through the admin panel of oscommerce, or you can use excel or access to link directly (this is a bit complex, and not really recommended for the beginner, as setup is a bear).

Hopefully this will get you going in the right direction.

Default modification guide

The best advice i can give for new users of oscommerce is to download and read the installation and modification guide from the downloads section of oscdox.com, that gives you a good idea of what files to edit and how to modify oscommerce to your liking
