Default Drop Down Category Menu

Is there a contribution for oscMax for a drop down category menu? I've just taken over an existing project that was started in oscMax and I'm just getting familiar with the differences. This site will have about 7 categories and three of the Main categories will have a huge number of subcategories so I really need to implement a drop down menu system.

Also, one other question for the moment. (I'm sure I'll have more as I traverse through this) I don't want the number of products to be shown next to the category name in the menu. How can I remove this. I've set category counts to false in the admin, but the number still shows up. I' ve done a search on each of these and haven't come up with anything that relates to what I need, so forgive me if both of these have been answered previously.

Any helpful information would really be appreciated.

Default RE: Drop Down Category Menu

I changed the setting to "true" and the counts disappear, so that's solved.

Thanks

Hi

Your Drop Down Menu question is in the osCommerce section of the forum, but I'm presuming you'll still be working in oscMax...

Have you had a look at the built-in menu options?
These are available in oscMax v1.7 (I've not worked with anything earlier) and if you login to Admin you'll find them here:

Admin/Configuration/My Store/Enable Display a Dhtml menu

Select that, then press the edit button and you'll be given a choice of three options:
Default; Dhtml and CoolMenu

Choose which of the other two suits your purpose.
If you've got your categories and products already set up, you'll see the changes instantly.

If you want to configure the colours and style of the dhtml option you can specify your settings on this file:

catalog/includes/boxes/categories_dhtml.php
Lines 33 onwards.
You'll also find line by line comments to help you make the right changes.

Good luck!
