Modifying cart

Hi,

I need to modify the shopping cart, and add and take some of the options, I am trying to follow the code, but it will help if someone can lead me to the right files, I don't want to mess up the whole application nor the database, I tried to get some info from google, but so far without luck, nothing mentions the cart code, what I need to do is to remove all price and manufaturer information and payment systems, shipping, coupons, gifts, etc, safely, as I will add a custom form at the end feeded with the data collected from the cart, I just need product's information, model, description, and quantity.

Removing all of these options is a pretty big task for someone not real familiar with the cart, I am pretty familiar and that task is pretty daunting. What are you trying to plug into it on the backend?
