urgent help with same product different sizes

I am sure there is probably a simple soultion to this but I'm not sure what to do.
I jave two scenarios - the first is the same product that comes in different sizes and each size is a different price - how do I do that in a drop down menu so that I only load the product once and then the client selcts the size he wants from the drop down menu?
the second is where I have a product that comes in say 8 colors - but all the same price - I would need a drop down menu added to the product so the client can choose the color they want. Is there a mod or something available or does it already exist and I don't know how to use it.

problem solved - now i know what all that code in product attributes does - i ignored uptil now cause couldnt figure it out, but thats where i needed to go
