How do i make my shop look like this ?

Hello everybody,

I'd like to make my (still standard looking) shop look like this.
http://www.elektrostall.de/katalog/ (url is not meant for commercial reasons, but just as an example).

So, i'd like a coloured box above the products, with the product name in it, image below, with maybe a short description (not necessary), and the price lower.

I think i could make adjustments to product_listing.php to get the 2 colums, but i'm not sure how to get the coloured boxes.
