Credit card processing

I've searched through forums, I guess the most common way for credit card processing is through paypal, or other service providers (authorize.net, etc). However, what I'm wondering is, those service providers do require my customers to sign on to their service too, right?

Is there any service that I can directly get their credit card number and process it? Any solutions to integrate it with osC? I own a offline store as well, the seller's permit and everything can be taken care of easily.

So do you mean you would be processing credit cards offline?

No, more like I'd want to process it online, but a good module so that my customers won't have to login everytime to pay...

PayPal no longer requires your customer signs up with them...the hitch is that if they don't then PayPal does not automatically return them to your site which means the order does not process on your site so you get notified that you are paid but you will not see an order...this hitch can be worked around with a little effort on your part...I have done it
