There are lots of places to get SSL that are no hassle. Then your webhost needs to install your SSL cert for you, which should also be no hassle to you.

I get my SSL through godaddy.com. They are fast and efficent. There are lots of webhosts that will install that SSL cert with no troubles either.

Once you've done that there are just two files to modify in MAX (or OSC). The wiki covers this very well. When you are modifying those files be very very careful about the details. This is emphasized in the wiki, but I'm just saying it again. Putting a www. where there shouldn't be one or vice versa makes the difference between a working site and a non-working site.

Your question was unclear so I just took a shot at what you might mean. Just a note, your SSL provider has no reason to give you a PHP file, they are not related.

Good luck!

Greg
