How do I edit english.php?

I have been attempting to change the text on my site. When I open english.php to change, for instance, the text in the header from "Cart Contents" to "View Cart" I get the following error on the shop home page:

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/scalecre/public_html/catalog/includes/languages/english.php on line 79

No matter what text I edit, even just a single letter, this error results, with the line number changing to the line of the text I changed. Even if I then change it back, I get the same result.

I am using the online editor primarily. I tried downloading the file, editing and uploading, no luck. So I upload the original file (I kept a copy of my download, luckily) and it's all fixed.

Replace line 53 with

define('HEADER_TITLE_CART_CONTENTS', 'View Cart');

that is all

Don't use the online editor. Use a plain text editor - even Notepad on Windows or text pad from textpad.com
