Default Help! I know this is simple but.......

I have figured out how to do many of the changes that I wanted to do, but the one problem I am having is the text in the middle of the page. I would like to know how to change it or add graphics etc. Please don`t refer me back to the documentation page, I have already read a million times and I am ready to quit trying. Any help is appreciated!!

Chris

Hi Chris,
New to OScommerce? Check your PM. To fix the problem above check your index.php file or your language/enlish/index.php file.

Instead of sending private messages, it is better if you post it on the forum so if anybody ever has a similar problem and do a search they'll find their solution, instead of hitting a dead end. For everyone else that has this problem, all of the english text for any of the pages is defined in the catalog/includes/language/english directory. Index.php is included in there. The files in the catalog/ directory include no text to change. To change it for other languages, just replace the english with the language. A lot of other text is defined in catalog/includes/languages/english.php file.

If you are using OSC-MAX the main homepage text can be edited, including any html tags you wish to add for images by modifying the /catalog/includes/languages/english/mainpage.php file.

Adding content for any other page is done via the catalog/templates/content/page_name.php for layout changes, or the /catalog/includes/languages/english/page_name.php file for text changes

Be sure to substitute "english" above with your language pack if using a language other than english of course.
