Default Two questions, shipping and affiliate program

1) is it possible to associate shipping types with different products. Say I have a book and I want to ship via flat rate. But I also sell books in bulk (8 0r more) and for those I want to ship per item.

2) what is the recommended affiliate model? Sorry if this is a dumb as question but I can't figure out the mod section and I don't want to download and work on something if it isn't the rright thing

thanks in advance

ok I've looked around and I can find nothing in the configuration taht says shipping zones. I see something that says Tax zones that looks like it might have something to do with customized shipping, but i see no way to attach that zones to specific products. There must be some way to do this. I can make this work with the table rates. but that is quite onerous and there must be a better way

Sorry, I wasn't thinking when I posted that reply. I just replied to a very similar topic at:

As I said in that post, I think it should do the job, but I've never had to do it so I am not positive. Good luck, hope it works.
