Default OsCommerce and suPHP...

Hi!
Is it anybody that has any experience with installing oscommerce on an apache server that is using suPHP?

My webhosting company is running suPHP on one of their servers. They are going to install this on all the servers in the future.

I've installed 4 oscommerce 2.2 ms2 on that server. All of them has the same problems.

1. Looks like the server reads chmod644 as chmod777. (Can run installation without changing any rights in configure.php). Must set chmod to 444 after install to protect the configure.php. That's ok, but I need to change the rights on all files so customers NOT can go into FileManager to do any changes by themselves.

2. Cannot add new categories in the top level. (Don't show up in the admin list or in the shop). There is no problem to add new products directly in the top level. A workaround is to create a new subcategory in an existing category, and then move it from there to the top level.

I know this isn't the biggest problem in the world, but since this is such a good product to offer customers, I guess this should be fixed.

I can move the 4 domains to another server, but it will only solve the problems in short time. What will happend when they install suPHP on the other servers?

Hope anyone have som answer or thoughts about this.
