Anyone he;p with errors installing the gift voucher contrib?

I've installed on a new site, and updated all the information requested in the GV installation instructions etc. However, I have a problem in that it has not created a database table to control the GV

In the admin panel I get the following error:

1146 - Table 'bookscrafts.coupons' doesn't exist

select count(*) as total from coupons where coupon_active='Y' and coupon_type != 'G'

can anyone tell me either

- why this would be happening so I can prevent it on a future install of oscommerce.
- a fix for this problem
- or what the fields in the table coupons are so that I can manually add it in (presuming this is all that is wrong with the contrib).

ps - have looked extensively through old messages and not found any answers to this problem, though someone did post saying that they had a similar problem a short while ago, no fix was posted on the forum.

First question... why not use osCMAx v1.7 since it already has the GV system installed.

Next. If you still want to manually install the gv system, the install doesn't create the database structure, you need to run the sql file included in the contribution or manually update your database to create the needed structures for the gv system. Look through the contribution and you should be able to find the sql file...
