Adding payment and shipping modules?

Hi, I've been looking around but couldn't find a simple guide on how to add payment and shipping modules. I'd like to add home-delivery option to delivery and some other stuff, too, but it seems a bit complicated at first anyway to remember all the places where the changes and additions need to be made.

Any help is appreciated!

Admin > Modules > Payment > click the 'Install' button next to the ones you want to use
Admin > Modules > Shipping > same as above
