change front page?

I found out here how to make the "new products for month" go away. BUT, I would like to put in its place a showcase of my wooden toys, which is in my catalog. How to do this Please ?????

There is a featured products module/add-on that you can use.
Most of your mainpage boxes are "referenced" within the templates (and a subfolder that I can't recall right now) in the mainpage php page.

You can comment out the content that you do not want.
