Add to car problem

I've modified the products_id to be a varchar(16) so that I can use alpha and numeric skus.

Now add to card won't work. I can't seem to figure out why since the cart's product ID is a tiny text. Any suggestions on how I can work the varchar(16) product_id into oscommerce?

Followup :

I think this might be a case of product_id variable not being enclosed in quotes.

ie.

12345 vs "12345"

I'm not so hot at PHP yet so I can't figure out if how the product_id variables are being passed around.
