gift vouchers at checkout

hi all,
if i have a gift voucher that is worth more or equal to the value of what is in my cart, should i still have to go through payment options?

i can't figure this one out...
at the moment, we will say when a user creates an account the welcome email includes a gift voucher for 10 euros, once they log on and purchase an item for under 10 euros & go to checkout can the payment options be skipped?

I cant see why they would have to enter cc details when the item is covered by the voucher, any help appreciated...

I have the same question...is there a way for a customer to use only the gift voucher account to pay for a purchase when it covers the entire amount or is it required to select a payment method in addition to "use gift voucher" at checkout ?
