Default database mods

Hello all, and thx in advance for any assitance you may grant...I grovel at your feet

I am reading over all the OSComm forums and OSC dox that I can find, havent eaten in days, my kids have forgotten what I look like, and I think my wife may have left me, and Im pretty sure I still have the same pair of socks on that I put on last May...

Please forgive the ramblings of a crazy man...back to topic...I am trying to find some info on creating a mod db for a retail clothing store, selling mens and womens intimates, and the OSCom database seems to be set up for easy sales, like DVDs, VHSs, games, and the like. I need something that will allow me to have the same garment many times over, seeing one garment may come in a variety of colors, patterns, and sizes.

PLEASE HELP!!

I have created a db skeleton in Excel, was then preparing to transfer it and its data to CSV, import that to MySQL with PHPMyAdmin...but I seem to be stumped cuz OSC database is different than my own, and I do not want to have to go digging around in OSC code in order to hunt down all calls to the db to change to my format...Im pretty sure im mad now...not sure what that would do to my sanity if I tried that.

Cheers.

why not add individual items thru the admin? you might b in store for some crAAAAAAzy nites if ur gonna get down and dirty with osComm's relational dB...

as far as having more than 1 kind of size, color etc. goes; use attributes and one of the contribs which lets you add extra pics to a product, also, displaying same product in more than I category is also possible out of the box...
