Custom Currency

Is it possible to create a custom currency instead of using one of the localized currencies? We do not want to sell things for US dollars or any other national currency but rather for a special type of points that we control. So we would want the site to be created in the US localization (English language) but accept our own points/currency with a custom name like "frequent flyer points". Is this simply a matter of changing any text references from "dollars" to "frequent flyer points" and creating our own payment processing logic? We would not be processing payments though standard gateways but would run them through our own backend system. Thank you very much.

Yes. Create your own as you wish - call it points or what ever. Remember to change the "$" sign to maybe "#" or nothing....

Also you can use many exisiting payment methods included with OSC - or a few others - ONES that don't go though a gateway.... "COD" or "on account" or "fax" or "pickup".... Just change the text to suit how you want the "payment" to be called...
