payment module resetting

hello,

i have an osCommerce store for a small record company client that has been running great... until recently... each day, the payment module is "reverting" or "resetting" from the authorize.net module i installed to the standard credit card module. i can't find any technical reason for this behavior, and i even changed the password to lock out my client to ensure someone at their company wasn't re-configuring the module. i am concerned that this store is being exploited, as the obvious reason for changing the modules is that the credit card information is then stored locally, rather then sent to authorize.net and not saved in the /admin area.

anyone else ever experience this behavior with payment modules? thanks in advance for any information you might provide...
