Default Can we by pass sign in before checkout?

Hi,

I am developing a website which will not have many customers who will come back again...so I don't need my customers to create an account and sign in to be able to buy...is there any way to by pass this and directly get the personal info and checkout?

I searched through the old archives and post (as per the rules) but couldn't find the answer

Any help is appreciated, I need this done in a day!

Your asking about maybe PWA - Purchase Without Account.
http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,355

Allow your customers to choose the three following options at checkout time:

1)Proceed Directly to Checkout (no account creation)
2)Create a New Account
3)Login to Existing Account

I have this implemented at www.fridgemags.com

Can somebody tell me how to have just the pwa
option show up and not the login or create account option?

I think I am losing customers due to the long drawn out
account creation process as most of our visitors are on
the older side and less technically inclined.

No offense to anybody intended.

If anyone could post how to do this it would be awesome.

Thanx for all the great help in these forums.

All of that information that PWA collects is temporarily stored in the DB. If you bypassed this process and the collection of that data, how would you know who to ship it to, who to charge, or what they paid with. Once this is bypassed you would end up with a blank invoice!

Common sense dictates we must collect information of some type to process the order. After the order is processed PWA deletes the record from the DB thereby making it accountless.

red fraggle,

I have implemented a one shot checkout deal at www.fridgemags.com

The problem I am having is like you said am ending up with a blank invoice.

In the extra orders email i get the product ordered just fine and the prod attributes are there but the customer details are not being sent to the database.

Is there a way to get the info that customers place into the billing and shipping details sections to go to the database as soon as the confirm order button is pressed.

I dont care about creating accounts and such just need to have an invoice to select in admin.

I am willing to pay anyone who can figure a solution for this.

Thanx in advance.
