use session system in a custom page

Hello guys,

I'm trying to convert a site to an eshop.
The site has over 2.000.000 products and i cant add these manually.
The existing old site has a database which can i print it in tables.
I'm thinking use the old database, print products in tables, and close to every product add a buy it now! button.
How can i use the buyitnow button to send the product to the market basket?
From what i see, when the user click the buy button in product_info.php, the application send a session to the server and get it again when forwrding to shopping_cart.php. Can someone tell me what the session save in the server? What variable?

You sound very confused!

• 2 million products will take quite some server resources to import.
• Forget about sessions for now: why complicate matters?
• Install osCmax and read up on EasyPopulate
• Create a few test categories/products, export them and view the speadsheet format.
• Export from your existing database (preferably in subsets) and match your spreadsheet to the EP format.
• Import your product data to 'Max.
• Start designing your new shop.
