Depend on the server....Linux or Windows? Your own or hosted? Virutual or Dedicated?

If hosted - then ask them to add that into PHP (they should be able to) or they MAY have to upgrade PHP (suggested anyway - if it is that old.) More than likly you can't do it your self.

If your own it (or dedicated server and you have FULL access) then follow the php manual on how to install or include other fuctions in php for the version your running. Unfortunally it varyies greatly on which type of OS - Windows or Linux.

If you can tell us how your hosted we could help you much more.

We rent a Free BSD, Unix.

I though maybe I can do this myself - I will have the company install it for me then.

    Thank You.

    Hi,

I run my own linux server and when I use the osCommerce admin panel to check the "Server Information", I get the following...

    Server Host: okay (192.168.13.1)
    Database Host: localhost (127.0.0.1)
    Server OS: Linux 2.4.20-18.7smp
    Database: MySQL 3.23.56
    Server Date: 05/06/2004 14:47:59
    Datebase Date: 05/06/2004 14:47:59

    Server Up Time: 2:47pm up 1 day, 51 min, 1 user, load average: 0.30, 0.15, 0.11

    HTTP Server: Apache
    PHP Version: 4.1.2 (Zend: 1.1.1)

Looks like I am also missing the gdlib2.

Can someone provide some guidance from here please...

    Mizou

Hi, recompile apache with gdlib included. Also, you may want to recompile with a newer version of PHP (like 4.3.4 or 4.3.5)

If you do not know how to do this, I suggest contacting your host for guidance.

Here is the instruction on compiling php...

    http://www.php.net/manual/en/install.unix.php

Complete list of option you can change:
    http://www.php.net/manual/en/install.configure.php

I would NOT attempt this if you jave not compiled anything (successfully) in Linux before. Higher a Pro or even Student that is knowlagable about Linux. Get a Linux support contract (available from many vendors) and have them do it even.

    Good Luck!
