Imprint Text Attribute problems

Hi,

I have installed the imprint text attribute from the oscommerce add ons. It appears that some of the code needed to be added to template files, as opposed to the files named in the oscommerce instruction. Is this correct?

After installation I tried to access the text attribute screen in admin. Why would it tell me I don't have right permission access and to contact my web administrator? Where do I go to grant or open that permission? Also it does not show in the product attributes screen as it did on a regular install of oscommerce.
