change header (text&graphics) for each category

i need to have a custom page (header only) for each category...

ive been looking all over these forums for the right code...but most people only want minor color change (css) or change the osc image or meta or title. i want to switch out the whole header...which i already customized for the index.php. something to the affect of...

if cpath=28 then require header28.php

...and so on for each category (9 total). what is the easiest way to do this...??? i want to do this not only for aesthetic reasons...but obviously for seo reasons...landing page/no duplicate content/optimized content...etc. i am css graphics expert...suck at php.

With PLAIN osCommerce - no! With osCMax YES! - Each category you can modify the "header" with a full HTML editor included. With header - I mean the category description can have full HTML coding.

If you want to change the WHOLE page using CSS depending on the category then that is something else. You have to create CSS for each category and "append" the ID to the style
