Default Clear ALL products in dataase

Hi everyone,

I am wanting to wipe ALL my products and categories but leave the manufacturers.

How do I go about this?

I had profiled the products incorrectly into the categories and now need a clean slate to re-import the data.

I have had a look at the backend using phpMyAdmin and have 'emptied' the following tables:

categories
categories_description
products
products_description
products_groups
products_to_categories

By doing this the front end looks like its a new start but when I come to use 'EasyPopulate' to reload the data i get duplicates of products!!

Am I doing this the correct way?

Thanks.

You have to "clear out" the OLD EP file first. Make sure you have kept a backup of the DB before you do this.

The FILE that EP made. If you export it then "clear out" our DB then append to this EP file and reimport it - it will recreate the orginal item... When you modify the old EP file - remove the OLD items you don't want.

Right. i see what you mean.

The only problem here is that I still need the products, its just that they will be rearranged into sub categories.

Suggestion - KEEP a copy of the EP file. MANUALLY MOVE ONE ITEM into a sub catagory. REEXPORT in EP and compare the differnce to that one item. Once you figure this out you can then go though the EP file and change any other item you want.
