The products expected is a module is called from catalog/templates/fallback/index_default.php & index_nested.php & index_products.php. It is called by the line:

Code:

include(DIR_WS_MODULES . FILENAME_UPCOMING_PRODUCTS);

In order to get it into the left (or right) column you will need to turn it off in these file and convert the code into a infobox and then turn it on in the admin section.

Have a look at this - it should do what you are looking for.

(Don't forget to set the Admin --> Administrator --> File Access once you have installed.)

Regards,
