| I'm setting this up for a client who already bought their webspace from www.webmasters.com and an SSL certificate from www.secured.com. This is my first time working with osCommerce, I have it running and looking pretty at www.paperorigin.com The site runs great with SSL turned off. The standard bugs show up when I turn it on. First off, I have two choices for the SSL, theres a free one included with hosting but it is really long and ugly. (https://server.ip.here/*paperorigin.com/httpdocs/), no https://www.paperorigin.com The second choice for SSL is the account the client bought from secured.com which provides 10 secure megs of space at http://secured.com/~f2441/ . Naturally, I have no idea how to use this space with oscommerce It is probably too late to start from scratch and get an aabox account. Any ideas on how to get the secure parts running? |

| First you need the full IP address or domain of YOUR DATABASE server... (not your site but of the server it self.) That way when the script goes off site - it is polling the information from your database and not a "localhost" database that know nothing about your database. Your database must allow access from not only localhost (127.0.0.1) but from the secure server also (if it is not on the same phycial server). Get the full DNS of the secure host (as you said you have already). Change BOTH your configure.php with both of these values. Transfer a "copy" of your whole site including pics to the secure server (I am not sure which files can be excluded - no harm if exist) Else get a STATIC IP spend the 20-60 bucks a year and get your OWN SSL cert then you could have http://www.paperorigin.com AND https://www.paperorigin.com I can think there is several MUCH cheaper ways to host that would be less than 180.00 per year (9.95 + 5 per month for static IP or secure.com's SSL option) and get everything you want/need. (Mine is hosted for 62.91/year plus SSL you can get for only 19.95/year = 82.86/year - Mine sittting on no less than 13 fiber connection to 6 differnet backbones) Even AABOX would charge less than what your are currently paying. Good Luck

| wooo! It looks like setting the MySQL server to the actual IP instead of localhost did it, no more cart dropping. I'll check if we can get a refund on the webmasters.com hosting, the package is overkill as it is. Thanks again! |
