the client i'm working for has been turned off by the idea that implementing oscommerce would have him replace his existing product info pages (html files) with the database driven product info pages of oscommerce. i'd like to find a way to add a link that into a normal html page (i.e. www.somewebsite.com/products/productX.html) that would take the user into oscommerce, start them at the shopping cart page, with 1 productX already added to the cart. i've tried making a form with the name="cart_quantity" and have the submit action="http://www.somewebsite.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=24?Products_id=44&actio n=add_product" like the page generated by oscommerce. it goes to the shopping cart, but it doesn't add the item.
has anybody figured out how to do this?
i'm also interested in making a build of oscommerce (maybe call it osCommerce LITE), that is tailored for those who wish to integrate oscommerce into existing sites. but knowledge of adding products into the cart from an external page is essential in making such a build a reality.
thanks,
pedrum
