How to change how products are listed?

I'm an extreme noob with this osCommerce stuff. I just bought and intalled an osCommerce template that has a style already defined for my store ... the only thing I'm not happy with is how it lists the products. Currently it's just a single columnar list. I've seen a couple other templates that are able to show more columns of products so you see more products on the screen.

Is that difficult to modify? I'm a newbie with PHP, but not with web development.

Hi to all outthere, i've got exactly the same problem. The Programm sort my products in alphabetical order and i try to find a way to put the products in the order I want.

I've anyone can help with infos or links please contact me or reply this post.

Use osCMax instead of osCommerce. osCMax has a feature built in that automatically does this for you from the admin. You can switch to the standard single column, or you can use osCMax's default multi column display, and set how many columns you want.

Or, you can go to the addons.oscommerce.com site and locate Product Listing Columns mod, and manually install it into your shop.
