| Hi guys, I just found out from my client she actually uses paypal -> verisign -> her bank (westpac) to process credit card payments. I have never used verisign before and there is no contribs on oscommerce.com for the westpac bank so Im not sure what verisign contrib i should be installing. Can anyone help me out here and point me in the right direction. |

| I think you have some things mixed up or a bit of miss information. Paypal is a processor of payments - Receives payment from clients (normally a Credit card or using existing funds on record with them) - They in turn - forward that transaction information to you - and you can transfer that money else where... Verisign - is a company that provides SSL certificates and "providing trust for the Internet and Electronic Commerce through Digital Authentication services and products." ----or in other words - they ensure the data you transfer is securely encrypted. Westpac Bank - using a bank is normally what people use to transact most financial transaction --Directly. However they DO NOT PROCESS CREDIT CARDS directly - you have to use a Payment Processor (some times they own shares in there "perfered" processor). Paypal is just one of these such processors. This is THREE totally different transactions - that MAY or MAY NOT be related. 1. A person buys a item(s) from you and starts a SSL connection to transfer "sensitive" data. Now that could mean SENDING credit card info to say --- Paypal. 2. Paypal will take the amount due from your transaction and verify the amount and accept payment in a variety of ways according to what is available. They work with many different credit cards and provide several methods to pay. 3. Now to get your money FROM Paypal - you need to get that money TRANSFER to your bank. Depending on how you have it setup in Paypal it may be automatic or manual transfer (not sure if they have an automatic feature - I don't use them). Sorry osCMax does not have any Credit Card payment method that work DIRECTLY or INDIRECTLY with specific banks --- in North America anyway. You have to use a 3rd party credit card processor. There are a few - bu the major ones are: osCommerce_PayPal_IPN_v2.3.4.5 PayPal Pro Direct Payments & Express Checkout and I think you want is: PayPal Payflow Pro Good Luck

| let's clarify. Verisign offered Payflow Link and Payflow Pro products. This portion of their business was sold over a year ago to PayPal. My old store used Payflow Link. The New Store uses Payflow Pro. The difference is simple. Link will pass the customer to PayPal for the checkout process, they get a PayPal notification that has a transaction ID on it, and they have to hit a submit button to return to the site. Pro happens all in the background and the customer never leaves the site and never knows that they are dealing with PayPal. This saves one screen step for the customer and doesn't confuse them with the Transaction ID on the processor side of things. So to clarify for JPF, Payflow Link and Payflow Pro were both Verisign products. Both are NOW PayPal products. There are modules at OSC's site that work, but they do require some minor tweaking. In addition, PayPal offers a link to a module that should work for OSC (they offer the link on their UK site, but last time I checked, not on the US site... go figure...)

| are you sure you're talking to the right server? I remember I had problems with that when I was installing it. It should be talking to paypal.com not verisign.com.

| check the code for a link to verisign, I believe it's hard coded in a "if" statement. I can't remember where, but I do remember I had to make 1 code change.
