| personally i prefix any change i make to a file with the works #JIM HACK - description of what i'm going to do. then if i want to find a particular hack/edit I made, i use dreamweaver's find feature to locate a particular hack by searching for #JIM HACK. i've never gotten into CVS and indeed do not even really understand it, but i know that it has something to do with tracking changes and contributions added. oh, and on that note, always marke the in and out point when you copy some contrib code into your own, and always make a backup before editting. saves a lot of time. |
