Default Changing the Title for each Catagories Page

I have had this question posted on the oscommerce forum site but no-one seems to know how to change this:

when a user clicks on one of the catagories I want the top of the page to read what the catagory title is. Meaning changing the default message from "Let's See What We Have Here" to <catagory_title_name> what ever that may be. How would I go about doing this?????

In your \Admin control, when you click the catalog area, and then your categories appear, when you hit Edit, you get two sections at the top.
Category Name:
Category Heading Title:

Obviously the Category name is what your category is, but Category Heading Title, is what will show at the top of the page when they go INTO that category.

Hope that helps some!!

WebMistress, since he posted in the standard MS2 forum, not the MS2-MAX forum, I am assuming he cannot do what you suggest, since this feature is not included in the standard MS2 installl...

I have standard MS 2.2...

Evidently there are already contribs added into my standard cart before I edited anything???

:onders and tries to remember::
Unless the Category descriptions contrib added that second line in...maybe?

WebMistress, stock MS2 always says 'Lets see what we have here" at the top of all category pages. You must not have the stock MS2. It's been a while since I DL'd it, but I don't think it is in there...

This will display the Heading Title after your Title

<title><?php echo TITLE; ?>: <?php echo HEADING_TITLE; ?></title>

I think this is also what you were looking for, correct??

Also, much of the text is defined in the catalog/includes/languages/english.php--This is where you can change most everything, for all intents and purposes, assuming English is your default lingo.

and in the catalog./includes/language/index.php--this is where you will change the HEADING Itself, and make it read "The Store, Our Shop", whatever. As well as a few other things.

Good Luck!!

And junjun?
That second line had to come from the Category Descriptions contrib. With out products,, we HAD to have individual category descriptions or there would have been a lot of confusion... Check the Downloads section, and look for that there. Its called categories description, but make sure you get the right one for your version. I got the one for MS2, v.1.5
