Default Error on something I didn't change????

Went to log into the site today to add some information with new products, as well as adding the Authorize.net gateway, and I get this error.

FATAL ERROR: register_globals is disabled in php.ini, please enable it!

It worked last week when I got the contrib installed to get the categories descriptions running, but now I get this.

I never touched the php.ini???

What happened, and help please!
