Default Removing products_model from Item page

I have used numbers is the products_model field for simplicity. When a product is being viewed, the header description is SONY DVD PLAYER [products_model].

I've been working for a while to get rid of that but have been unsuccessful.

Could someone point me to the section of code that governs this?

    Thanks!

in product_info look for where it gets products_model from the database. Then look for where it displays ['products_model'] and remove that.

Now why you don't want to do that...

    In a word...

    Google

When people shop they find what they are looking for at one site and many then put the SKU into google. So, if you are selling products with a SKU you WANT to have the SKU prominently on the page so that you get a nice position in google when people search for the SKU.

That makes sense. What I'm selling, though, is hand made jewelry and beads. These things simply do not have any sku's so I'm fairly certain the products_model field is unimportant. Yes?

yes. products_model is important if you are selling items that have matching SKUs to items that people may find in catalogs or other on-line stores.

That way when google indexes your pages and someone is looking for a CTU3030 instead of a "yacker tracker" your items still shows up.

But if you are working in the "personal items" field (which you are with hand crafted items), then there is no real reason to show the poducts_model.
