Default Anyone run OScomm under Win2k/IIS 5??

Is there anyone out there running OSC on a windows/IIS server??

I'm having some problems ever since trying to secure the admin folder. Correct me if i'm wrong but the client has control over applying these permissions to the admin folder via .htaccess with an Apache setup right? On windows, i have had to get my host involved to setup permissions - which they have done successfully. However, whilst a windows authentication box pops-up & i enter the correct details, i cant gain access - i get this:
'The directory name is invalid.'

My host believes that the permissions have been applied correctly and that there must be an error in my code...however, i could access admin/index.php just before work started on securing the folder. In addition, i dont know if this is related or not, but whilst before, i setup a mysql database connection without any problem, i am now getting this error:

'http error 502 bad gateway'

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Would be excellent to hear from someone who is running on IIS - theres a gap in terms of info re. oscomm running on IIS on all oscomm support forums..maybe we can bridge this for the benefit of all ..

Ok, thats it! I'm moving away from the windows/IIS setup. MY hosts have kindly responded to my request to transfer to their equivalent linux/apache package.

Nevertheless, i would still be interested in hearing from people who have oscomm setup with a windows/IIS platform/server....with regard to specific issues re. setup of osc in this environment...

I'm using windows 2000 with an IIS setup. Sorry but i won't be much help as I have recently re-installed oscommerce and have problems in setting it up myself...for some reason I can view admin/index.php but can't view catalog/index.php. Comes up with the error: 21046 - No Database Selected

select configuration_key as cfgKey, configuration_value as cfgValue from configuration

[TEP STOP]"

I've checked my configure.php files (both) quite a few times...looked at the ISS server etc etc.
Any ideas?? Cheers.
Phil

Sorry Phil, not sure what that could be.

I have finally made the switch to Linux/Apache and this evening, secured the admin folder with relative ease - and without having to involve the hosting people. have to say its great to be back in control!

Phil: It appears that you are running it on Win2k/IIS in a test environment/or on your own server. It may be ok in these circumstances but if you have to use remote hosting then, you will encouter problems like mine..
